PRE-RECORDED: “[Eth]ex & The City: Legal Ethics v. The City’s Morality”
Why Doing The “Right” Thing Can Still Cost Your License To Practice Law

Original CLE Date: November 14, 2011

2 MCLE Credits (Ethics)

Members $50 | Non-Members $80

Description:
Lawyers who face disciplinary and court inquiries into their conduct typically get in “trouble” not because they make the “wrong” ethical decisions, but, rather, because they do not see the issues in making their decisions and believe that simply doing the right “moral” thing is always “ethical.” Using real world examples and interactive hypotheticals, this ethics program will explore practical ethical issues relating to and including:

• “Ethics v. Morality” – when is doing the “right” thing “ethically wrong”;
• Client rights v. lawyer self-preservation;
• Keeping your legal fees v. getting sued and having to return your legal fees;
• Revenue generating law firm technology v. computer malpractice; and
• Ingenious attorney advertising v. really bad press.
